What a beast!

Hard to believe that truck has the baby 305 V6 in it, they were used in pickup trucks! I would have thought it would have the 478 Magnum V6 or 637 Magnum V8...

Maybe the 305 V6 runs the Fire Pump ONLY...LOL!

I was thinking the same thing Mike. The 305 would be very underpowered to pull that truck fully loaded with water.
How big do you think that tank is? 2000 gallons?

I may have to just go look at it for fun and get some pictures and more info.

Looks like it may have come from an airport?
Even so the 305 still seems an unlikely engine, but if that’s what it has at least they didn’t have any hills.

I'm betting there's an auxiliary engine in the cabinet behind the cab, why else have that big vent? Pumps don't get THAT hot...

I was thinking the same thing, that it has an engine just to run the pump.
The more you guys theorize about it, the more I want to go look at it.
Think it would fit in next to this one?

Looks like a 3000 gallon tank to me!

And yes, it would look good next to the Flag Pole!

If it is a 3000 gallon tank. That means when it is full of water.
A gallon of water weighs about 8.35 pounds X 3000.
The water alone will weigh about 25,000 pounds.

Rural Fire Department water tanker to service the numerous brush pumpers fighting those California wildfires. May have had a remote nozzle to hose down roadsides and tree lines. It’s a big boy for sure.
