Recently acquired my wife’s grandads truck. It set out in the pasture for over 50 years. It had sunk down in the ground up to running boards. Dug out around the tires, put air in the tires (all 4 held), and pulled it out on flat ground. Pulled the truck and got the motor to turn over. But, I am thinking about putting the body on a s10 frame. I think I could use the S10 engine and drive train plus it would have disc brakes. Has anyone done a s10 frame swap? How hard was it and what problems did you encounter. All input is appreciated.

- If you have to stomp on your foot-pedal starter, either you, or your starter, or your engine, has a problem.
- The 216 and early 235 engine are not "splash oilers" - this is a splash oiler.

We all like old truck pictures, so as soon as you have permission please post some pics of it as-is. Instructions are on the lower left of this page.

Welcome by the way! smile Lots of S10 info on this site and others. A Google search of the www will yield tons of hits. The original/ first series S10 longbeds are the correct 116" wheelbase for Advance-Design (47.2-55.1) 3100 (1/2-ton) trucks.

What year/ model/ series truck is it?

PawPaws truck is a 1951- 100 series. 228 engine, 3 speed on column. Think it is a short bed even though the box is 6’4”.

Sorry, I assumed it was a Chevy, not a GMC. Good luck.
