I picked up a 1946 Art Deco yesterday - https://imgur.com/gallery/Xtv6oN5

I’ve wanted one of these since I was about 8 (30 years ago...). I finally found one locally for a price I was happy with. I know I’m going to have questions at some point, but for now I figured I’d just introduce myself and start reading the board a bit more.

Thanks for having me,
EWW

Thanks. It’s pretty good shape, and I was able to drive it from Tacoma to the island. The 235 has a few minor issues, needs a water pump, and something is off with the L rear shock. Huck breaks were recently rebuilt with new lines. Body work on the bed is the biggest lift, but i’ve got the time to do it right.

There’s a lot of great knowledge in this group.

Welcome to the Stovebolt. Nice looking truck you have there......love the 46 as that is what I learned to drive in on my grandfathers farm. See you in the garage.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Good job, EWW ! Must be a nice feeling to finally realise a dream. I,too have wanted a 46, ever since owning one briefly in about 1972.
It had the 216 though. Looks like your truck has some upgrades done and is ready to continue to completion.
Complete , is a subjective concept. !

Completion is a very complex word. On one hand the way it sits is very practical for runs to town or the dump. However, I could turn it into a shiny thing that is beautiful and I’m afraid to scratch.

I’m just happy it’s now in my garage and no longer sitting outside under an old car cover.

Thanks for the warm welcome all

welcome to the site! I bet the ferry workers were happy to see that on the boat! I am right across the water in Seatac (5 min from Des Moines marina).
