seat belts for AD question #1299285 Sat Feb 16 2019 09:28 PM

I am going to install 2 point seat belts in my 51 as an afterthought and I have read all the posts on this but I still am unclear of the bolting location of the OUTBOARD belts. Should they thread between the seat cushions inside the seat frame or around the outside of the seat frame? (obviously you could see the mounting bolt this way but that doesn't bother me)
Thanks, Howard

I threaded mine in between the cushions on my 1950 3100.

Mine are between as well. Here you can see where the 3-sets roughly fall.

I installed 3 point harnesses on the outside. I’m ugly enough and don’t need to slam my face into a metal dashboard! It was very easy to do.

Thanks for the responses and photo. It looks like I could mount them either way. I will decide what works best for me.

If you route them on the outside of the seat frame they will fall out the door and crash to the running board every time you get out of the truck.

But I see that this is a fairly old post so he's probably already done it by now.

Yes for inside the frame.
