Looking to replace the push buttons on my 1950 Chevy 3100 radio but having trouble removing old ones, any tips on getting them off? Thanks.

I used to use a large set of cutters or pliers and break bits off. Now I use a heat gun. I heat the plastic up until it get gummy and then remove it with pliers. I pull each one out in the setting position, one at a time while I remove them. I soak the new button in hot water before installing them.

Thanks truckernix followed your suggestions and they worked perfectly, old knobs off new ones on. Appreciate you taking the time to respond.
