Panel Rear Door Lock

I have a '52 Panel but am unable to lock the rear door. The key will turn completely around and it feels like there is nothing linking the key cylinder to the door handle mechanism. Is the key cylinder, lock and handle linkage the same on the panels and pickups? (The distance between the key cylinder and the handle is longer on the panel rear door than the on the front door.) I checked the shop manual but it doesn't give a lot of info. Is there a pic out there of what the key cylinder link to the handle looks like? Thanks in advance.

It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.

I installed my rear door handle and lock cylinder about six months ago. I seem to recall the lock cylinder simply had a square shaft that entered the latch mechanism.

It's super easy to remove the lock cylinder - just pop out the spring-loaded retainer in the door jamb. Then you can visually inspect it and see what the problem is.

I have more zippers then a pair of cargo pants
the rod on the back of the lock itself to the lock mechanism in the latch is different from the front door to the rear door.

We make drivers side door locks for 47-51 AD's if requested and use either square key stock or hex from an Allen wrench for our shaft. Quite easy to do and you can have any length needed.

We tried selling some of our tools/devices but it distracted from our main endeavor which is restoring or street rodding cars/trucks. The guys HATED sales, especially the time it consumed, so now we will share any tool or procedure we come up with gratis. Don't know how the video works on my camera but will send anyone information and still pics if PM'd. Since it's free you have to operate on our schedule. The shop name is 121 Rod and Restoration in Trenton, Texas but be aware there is a 2.5 year waiting period to get in the door. Called job security I guess.
