Hi,

I've just picked up my 48 GMC truck, and im looking for direction on how to id the model/series etc - so I can find out more about it and the best direction to go with build.
Everything im currently finding is related to the 3100 series.
Can anyone direct me to a good resource to find info on this?
Cheers

Welcome to the Stovebolt. I can't wait to see more and hear more about your very cool old truck! The forum Big Bolts deals with a lot of the issues of the big trucks.

Thanks guys - ok ill ask questions in the appropriate place.

I'm in Qld near Woodford TPR.

The plan is to keep the patina, upgrade the suspension front and rear, disc brakes, wheels tyres, and drive it. Engine is strong and previous owner had done quite a bit of work to it. she runs well, but is choking out, so ill probably pull the carb (which looks new or refurbished) and give it a once over...
Cab is pretty solid - lower doors and front l cab corner bottom, and a few other areas need work, but is overall very solid.
Eventually id like to drop a diesel is it with a matched box - but will do the above first...

Lid, welcome to the garage!!
A lot of great folks here to help you out.

But watch out for TPR, first thing you know you'll be flying the Missouri and a road trip to this event.
