Any tips on installing a new windshield and frame with crank out windshield. Frame fits good but closes really hard last inch. Should hinges be a little loose, then close. Then tighten hinges? Didn't have any slots on hinge bolts. Wondering if maybe new seal is just not slipping on cab. Maybe a little vegetable oil on seal? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bill

Hi Bill,

It may be that the rubber quality of the new seal is poor. I found the stuff I purchased from Jim Carter to be really hard. Someone put me on to Steele Rubber Products - great quality / worked much better.

I did get my windshield installed. My seal is from steel rubber. I had some issues with the fit of the new glass. It is a new frame also from chevs of the 40's. Took a little longer than expected but it is in. Thanks for the reply. Bill
