Stovebolt is pleased to support the Salvation Army! We're doing fine but many around the World are not. Instead of making a contribution to us this holiday season, how about making your contribution to a great organization with a long history of helping people in need around the world?
Hello everyone! Its time to post in the DITY Gallery! I've got a 1948 Chevy 6100 with a St. Paul "Dump It" Hoist. I found the truck in a nearby town and purchased it from the current owner for $300. It had no title, so i had to bond it. The Truck originally came with a 216 but had been modified with a 235 when I got it. I found a GMC 270 and have since mounted it in the frame. The box that came with the truck was destroyed long ago so I purchased a Omaha Standard 10ft box and mounted it to the hoist. I intend to do light farm work with the truck and take it to the occasional antique tractor/farm show. My brother has two Case tractors (VAC/300) and a Case A6 combine that we use to demonstrate farming in the 40s and 50s. The truck with its 10ft grain box will fit in perfectly with the demonstrations! Thank you all for the encouragement and wisdom shared. I look forward to meeting many of you in the future.
Cool, highly optioned truck with Nu-Vue corner windows and stainless garnish moldings. Congrats! Being a 6100 2-Ton it would have had a 235 originally as that was standard for that series. The GMC 270 should move it along really well. I'm jealous!
