If both rear ends are 1954, both the Hydra-Matic and manual rear ends were 3.90; but, I think they have different length torque-tubes (I'll check if anyone wants to be certain).

- If you have to stomp on your foot-pedal starter, either you, or your starter, or your engine, has a problem.
- The 216 and early 235 engine are not "splash oilers" - this is a splash oiler.

Yep, HM 1/2 ton torque tube and propeller shaft is a little shorter than the manual trans. torque tube and propeller shaft.
The 1/2 ton torque tube and propeller shaft was shortened for one year, just for the Chevrolet 1954 truck w/HM.

Thanks

Sold,
Not a bad deal for $5100.00 smackaroos,
Two 54 trucks, One of them being a HM truck and both have clear titles.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Chevr...rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l44720

If you restore the HM truck you have to use the HM cab because it has the arch in the toe board and the gas pedal on the tranny service cover.
Plus the HM frame has the riveted on ears for the removable cross member.
They also did not punch a hole in the toe board for the clutch pedal.

No one repops the HM firewall.
The firewall and toe board are one stamped out piece of metal.

2nd pic HM tranny cab arched toe board.
