How closley matched are the cabs for the trucks from 1939-40 till 47? I am trying to install a newer style brake cylinder on the firewall and have a set of instructions for a 47 1/2 ton but would like to know if the "ribs" and seams are even closely matched? Any idea's out there?

Believe confusion begins with the mid-year design change in '47. Quite a different truck than the Wurlitzers...

When I mounted the power booster on my 46 I made a doubler. Then I had to put a piece of angle alum on each side of the swing pedal bracket and then a piece of flat stock back to the dash from the top of the bracket to keep the firewall from flexing.

besides a bracket to the dash, a large piece of 1/4" plate on the inside of the firewall will stiffen it considerably.
