Do it like GM did originally- - - -use a sleeve made of thick wall copper tubing surrounding the screw between the solenoid and the terminal lug on the starter motor.

Interesting idea, I started looking for a copper standoff but I could easily make a sleeve like that.

I buy solid copper round bar in any diameter and length I want on Ebay. I use it to fabricate heat sinks when I'm welding on heat-sensitive components such as rifle bolts when I'm building long range target rifles. With a lathe, a drill press, and some taps and dies, all sorts of possibilities open up.

I found a solution today. Found an old junk torch tip, cut the ends off and drilled it. Results to follow
