My wheel has rusted its locking ring, it also looks bent to me, so if i can find a good used ring that would match or a different wheel that would work. Went to junk yard yesterday found wheels but were different. I have a 1976 Chevy C60 https://www.flickr.com/photos/dennryan/30892154558/in/dateposted/

Swapping bits and pieces of a 3-piece wheel is a good way to see how good your life insurance coverage is. Even substituting a new factory original exact replacement part is risky- - - - - -using something mismatched is downright suicidal. That lock ring has approximately 60 TONS of force pushing out on it! It can take your head off and not even slow down.

thanks jerry, got some more shopping to do for a complete used rim, figured someone here may have one left over if they switched to tubeless tire rims. Having a ton of problems just trying to get the tire bead to brake loose. Currently making a bead breaker i seen on utube.

The plain old duck bill tire hammer is very effective at separating a bead from a rim, but using one does have a pretty steep learning curve. Getting just the right speed of swing and making sure you don't batter the rim out of shape takes a little practice. If you're not concerned with saving the tire, making a cut all the way around the sidewall with a Sawzall a couple of inches from the bead ring helps. Then the remaining tire bead can be sawed, chiseled, or even burned away with a torch.

I have used a high lift farm jack (Think "bumper jack on steroids!") and the front bumper of a truck or tractor as an anchor to break down the beads on car, truck, and tractor tires. Put the base of the jack against the bead, and jack up under the frame horn or bumper of a heavy vehicle. I use the front axle of an 8K pound tractor as my anchor.

I have a couple of 10 hole rims that came mounted to a bunch of 9Rx22.5 (tubeless) tires that I recently purchased, that I am looking to sell. They appear to be similar to what your picture showed, but don't know which models these fit or if they would work for your year model if switching from tube to tubeless tire. Here here are some pictures, if interested and you need a picture of any specific dimension let me know. lc_controls@mindspring.com Lee
