Anyone know of a good junkyard in the El Paso area? Looking for a 15” rim for my spare tire.

** How things must have changed. I was stationed at Biggs Air Force base in El Paso in the early 60's and salvage/junk yards were in great numbers . Those were the day's.

There are a few here, I am trying to find recommendations if there is a good one or one to stay away from. There always seems to be a good one hidden off the beaten path.

** Back in the day there were a number of them down in the lower valley just off of highway 80 & several out past the International Airport just off Montana. That may all me be in the past now. to bad. **

I grew up on the border and used to visit the junkyards in EP frequently. As Marzach said they were lined up out there. You may have to drive to New Mexico. If it hasn't been done away with there was a good one in Las Cruces and I know there is one (apx 5 or 6 acres) for sale in Alamogordo. The one in Alamogordo has some older stuff in it (when I was through there in August). Same problem, though. The land has become more valuable than anything on it. There used to be one between Fort Stockton and Monahans which was very large and had nothing newer than 1962 in it. But somebody bought all that stuff about 15 years or so ago.

In Dallas there are only a very few left and those won't keep anything older than about 2012 unless it is one of the cars still in high demand.

I only need a 15” Chevy rim for my spare tire! Nothing crazy.....yet. I may also need to find old GTO parts for a buddy in Virginia.

When you find that yard with 60-66 parts, you become my buyer.

On a whim I went to google maps aerial view south east of El Paso. Found several right off the bat,
They were along hwy 20.
Using google satellite view , you can cover a lot of mile fast, then plan your JYT or call them.
