Hello All,

I have looked around the web and this forum and I am chasing the Underhood Support Rail and the Support Panels for the Hinge Mounts. Are these available parts if not what forms of replacements and repairs have been undertaken in the past. Pictures and ideas greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Turbineman

It is spot welded in place. Once you get it off, you may be able to repair it by welding rusted out areas.
Your other choice is finding trashed hood without all of the rust for a donor support assembly.

I think you will find that it is riveted in place, Carl. (My 54 has rivets - at least it still has them on one side) Still, you can drill the rivets out. Looks like the damage is where the spring attaches. You can always remove the springs and put in a hood prop instead.

Two rivets at the middle AND 2 rivets on the outside with 4-6 spot welds. The rivets on the outside actually help to hold and align it when you go to re-weld.
