Hello everyone! I'm totally new to the hobby. I'm a sales rep at a Toyota dealership in Iowa City and we had a 1951 Chevy truck get traded in! I jumped on her right away. And I say her because she's pink, which happens to be my favorite color :)
I know next to nothing about these old trucks other than they are so neat! I love all the waves and thumbs up I get when I drive around! From what I understood from the last owner is has a '72 blazer frame and a '86 350 small block under the hood. It has power brakes, power steering and is 4x4 now!
So far I have replaced wheel bearings in one of the front tires and the rear drive shaft U-joint. I did both almost entirely on my own! I will admit I am not strong enough for some of the work so had to get help from my boyfriend and some of the guys here in the Toyota shop. Just about everything that can leak does leak, so that's next on the list!
I'm looking forward to all the help and advice I'm going to get on here!
You can find pictures here www.1951chevy.com I decided to make a website for her instead of Photobucket :)

Ms Stephanie, welcome to the Stovebolt and congrats on getting that pickup while you could. They are getting scarce. Sounds like a nice daily driver. We are glad to help but just remember to ask technical questions in the garage forums not here in the welcome center. My daughter is pretty good with a wrench and I'll bet you can be to. We have other ladies hanging around and we have other bolters from Iowa so watch for them. May be one next door. Thanks for the picture.
Welcome to the forum, it's great to see another eastern Iowan here. Lots of great information here as well as helping hands along your journey. Great looking webpage and an awesome truck. You made an excellent choice by picking this one up from the dealership.
