Hello! Has anybody torn apart the electric wiper motor on a 59 Chevy Truck to clean up? Mine was installed in the truck, but when I turned the switch, I wouldn’t get anything. Also the driver linkage was disconnected from the piece that controls the arm.. not sure how that happened? Maybe something broke? How are the arms connected to the linkages?
Looking for a guide, video, pictures of disassembling and clean up of the motor. Would I need to replace parts and are there any available? Thanks in advance!!

the electric wiper is covered well in the shop manuals 57 and later ... not easy to repair and not likely to find parts, although it might just be a broken wire - there's a small diameter spring with clips on each end that retain the arms - example

Thanks Bill! For some reason, your example is giving me a broken message...

I had an electric wiper motor from my F-word parts truck that also did not work. I took it to a place in the next town that rebuilds starters, generators, etc. They took it apart and cleaned it up and it works good as new.
I want to take it apart, but would like to have at least some pics for reference. Also, can I find this rubber bushings that go around the nuts to the mounting brackets?

as I pointed out, what it's possible to know is in the shop manual, if you don't have one you should get one - you could check this online 56 supplement to start .... I should add that the 58 & 9 wiper motors have an electrical switch, not the cable operated one that was on 55.2 - 57 .... 8/9 motor - and 8/9 switch, so problems will vary

I do have one, but don’t find anything on how the springs are attached. I removed the cap and the little washer deals fell out and also there seems to be a broken black block and the springs are a bit weird. Just need to know how they would go back together. Let me find out how to post a picture. Directly from my phone, they are too big to post.

Like most other stuff, slowly, gently disassemble it, inspect and clean. No rocket science inside it. Mine did not work until I did a little clean-up, I did not go extreme on it.
