J.M. suggested I tag this place and I am! Of course the vernacular was the first obstacle;)

Welcome too tall!,

I wish I could say I will you you there, but not going to be possible next year. Welcome to the group! From my experience, the ODSS is a great group of brothers that have a ton of knowledge and heart. They welcomed me in with open arms and beer in hand.

Where in MD are you located? Hope to meet you in person after my year in Texas! Make sure you tell about yourself and your truck!

Chris

Welcome TT?
The Homecoming is a must do event.
I've been the last three years and learned a lot.

Thanks gents. We live in Rockville, MD.
"Buck" the truck was sourced by a broker as a complete, not very rusty farm truck. The worst of it was shot out windows and a seized engine. I farmed out the bodywork and did most of the remainder myself beginning around 15 years ago. The orig. 216 died a ugly death a few winters back when I was hauling a load of firewood while towing my trailer. Outside temps were in the teens and no heat in the cab, driving way too fast threw a rod. A nice man who used to work the engine line at GM built a fantastic full pressure 235 that will outlast all of us. During the rebuild I found a 4 spd. from a wrecker and replaced the column shift that was hitting my legs. Twelve volt is the only other non-original aspect of the truck. Great truck, I've had many years of pleasure from her.
There are a few paint scrapes and I've hauled gawd knows in the bed however the truck was always garaged. I never got around to installing windshield wipers or interior bits...kinda like it that way. I'm imagining someone else will own this piece of history someday and do the same.
Fair warning, if I had you a beer (very likely) it will be very hoppy.

Too Tall, I don't think you will fit in at all. Your truck is too pretty. smile Having said that, do not miss Homecoming! The only thing bad about it is that it is only 3 days. It needs to be a week long to have the chance to really see what everyone has done to their trucks.
Keep your eyes peeled on this ODSS forum for little get togethers which the boys have from time to time. I wished I lived closer to go on those adventures, but I am pretty sure that the long distance which separates me from them is cherished by some/most up there. smile

Someone pass 'Bone another tankard ...

Carl, Speaking only for myself (and the dog) with the utmost verisimilitude, I cherish each moment spent in your unique company. By the way, thank you again for the Beaver Bo! It's been quite effective. Since April, there have been no successful assaults by beaver (or any member of the Castoridae family, for that matter) nor have I been bested in single combat since you gifted it to me.

You rock!
John

Don't leave out the cat which crawled in my tent the first night of Homecoming. Scared the bajeebers out of me until I heard it purring. I still wanted to Google to see if skunks purr. I instead showed it the door flap. In retrospect, I regret shooing the Felis catus, given the cool weather and lack of adequate bedding material. I could have used it for its body heat or as the pillow I neglected to pack.
So that makes 3. The dog, the cat, and John. Who needs more pals than that?
Carl
