Happened to be driving thru Pella, IA (of Pella window fame) and saw this fire truck. Didn't dig that close but looks to be relatively complete and in good shape other than the faded paint job. Still has the "Bussey Fire Department" lettering on the door. This was located on along Highway 163 at Doug's 4x4's. He has a bunch of old iron lining the highway side of the property and we had to stop and check some of it out. There were a couple of Stovebolts in his collection of stuff in various shades of patina as well.

Has a striking resemblance to my 50 fire truck, also in Iowa, originally from Kansas, but not nearly as happy.

68 GMC. COE Howe fire truck in Charlotte area for anyone interested. $2,500

Too many projects now, including tractors, to fool with but seems interesting, 24k miles...

Don't tweet, face, Google, or link. Just hanging in as long as I can...

That's a nice truck for the money, although it's Chevrolet, not a GMC. Chevrolet used the BIG GMC V6 engines in there 72" steel tilt cab trucks. I had a 1970 with that engine and it was a torque monster with max HP and torque at about 1800 rpm...runs like a diesel with max speed of about 55 mph.
