Hello,
As the title says, I am beginning my search for a 1937 - 1940 Chevrolet or gmc 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup. My goal is an original project that I can keep for a lifetime. It's in remembrance of my great grandparents. I don't have a lot of money to start but I am saving a little more every day.

I currently have $1500. I am located in NW Arkansas. I'm willing to travel anywhere in the us, it just may take me a little longer to save up enough for the trip plus price of the truck.

I don't know if it's appropriate to put here (if not please let me know and I will remove) I have a non running 1967 c20 original 283 that I would be willing to add in with cash if anyone would be interested. I would value it around $1300. I have a clean title for it.

You can contact me through here or you can call me at 918 513 2603. Central time.
Thanks for your help and input on this journey.

How big of a project are you willing to take on? IMO, a lot of the pre-war trucks seem to fit into one of two categories:

1) Finished restoration or hotrod
2) Basket-case or something pretty close to it.

I don't see a lot in between those two extremes. But if you are willing to put in the work on the basket case...they are out there. I'm sure there are many of us who will keep an eye out for you.

Would you be willing to consider a 1.5 or 2 ton? I don't see a lot of those, either, but might stand a better chance of finding an old farm truck that's pretty complete and doesn't cost a fortune.

Dan,

If you buy the one in Topeka I've got pristine headlight lenses for it or any other '37-'39 Chevy or GMC 1/2 ton through 1 1/2 ton truck you end up with.
