This is my first post! I'm building a '56 3100. My plan is to run a 235 CI engine backed by a TH 350 that will turn the 3.73 rear end. I have all the parts and would like to use them and save $$$. Any experience or opinions? Thanks, Len
My "experience and Opinion:" Put in a V8, no adapters necessary. Why do you want a 6 cyl with a th350 and 3.73? Makes no sense. Gas mileage better...no, easier to do....no. Stay with original........no. There is nothing like the sound of a V8. Better resale also. Better acceleration.....looks better. Sell the 6 and buy a V8. Where did the 3.73 come from?
I'm away on an ego trip. Will be back on Feb 30. I'm not an Auto Mechanic, but I play one on TV. I charge $0.02 for every opinion and I take Paypal. Plan B is always better than plan A, by definition.
...I think those adapter plates are about $450 bucks. That is enough to see what kind of "later/other" stuff is available. Makes even more sense looking at the "long haul". Just something to ponder about when you are sitting in that lazy boy thinking about how cols it is outside.
