Just got this Chevy stepvan and starting to work on it. Photos in my build blog below.

Wanted to see if anyone is getting together to help work on each others stuff?
I am in Manassas, Va.
If anyone else is interested, we could set up shop days to go to each others places and help work on each others trucks/vans/etc.
Im getting kinda tired of working on my stuff by myself.

Welcome to the group. Yes we are fairly active in the md and va area. Get together when someone needs a hand. Suspect with holidays and all it wont be until post new year. There are some dates to leave open for the big events. Nice to have more 60-66 representation.

Next spring will be my 4th time attending the Homecoming.
It's a little drive from where I live, but well worth it!
Be ready to get dirty.
Camp out, eat good and work on trucks all weekend.
I also learn a lot, helping these experts out.

BTW, I'll bring the cold rain!
Don

Don I think they would be happier if you just bought cold beer and left the rain at home your dam needs it

Cool step van. I was watching one on Ebay not long ago that looked similar and very stock. I know they are gaining in popularity lately.
Don, I agree with Tim, less cold rain and more cold beer!

What projects are proposed and how warm is your garage in the winter?

P10, I live in Woodbridge, I am willing to help if needed. Just have to plan it out due to wife in college and having 2 kids. The guys here are very good at teaching and assisting!

Well, good news. It wasn't starting but I just fixed it. Hot wire to the hei was broken off at the hei bat connector due to vibration. I crimped on a new female end, connected to bat on the hei and she starts and runs now. Big relief for me!
I'm not a pro mechanic. This is a hobby and I can usually figure out basic stuff. I have some tools and I'm just interested in learning more.

Work I want to do to P10 Stepvan so I can get it on the road:
1) Rochester monojet carb needs adjusting cause it idles at 1200? Motor is an inline 6 Chevy 250 with three speed manual tranny and I think idle should be more like 600 rpm.
Other than the high idle, she starts, runs and drives now.
2) Needs new wheels and tires for better looks. I'm thinking 20 inch rims.
3) Fuel gauge or fuel sender doesn't work so I don't know how much gas I have in the tank. Not cool, need to fix that asap.
4) Need to get Virginia antique tags and insurance for it so I can drive on road

I have heat in my shop but when its real cold (30's and below) it doesnt get warm enough to work on stuff.
I don't like to be cold either, so the stepvan work can wait till a warmer day or I will volunteer to help someone else who has a toasty warm shop.

Oh, by the way, my name is Mike and I'm very close to Woodbridge ndkid275. Your pickup looks to be in great shape!
Just let me know if you ever need an extra set of hands. I'm busy during the week but I have time on weekends.
Also, if anyone needs vehicle/other transport I have a trustworthy friend with a dually who has picked up stuff for me in the past.
He brought my ChevyP10 stepvan from NC to Virginia for a very fair price with no problems.
