Anybody notice how often these words "going forward" are being used today? Seems any TV/radio announcer, journalist, politician or sports announcer uses them. Are these new or am I still living in a cave?
Heard a sports broadcaster interviewing a ball player who had written a book and she ended by say "going forward I hope you get good reviews on your book." Seems to be inserted into many sentences even if they don't apply such as "in the future going forward...."
Sometimes they say moving instead of going but to me its just bafflegab. Going forward maybe I have too much time on my hands.

One the issues with language today is the proliferation of profanity. Educated and erudite people try to prove something, I have not been able to figure out why they do this. I know language is always evolving but it seems that it is devolving. Descending to the lowest level. I blame a lot of it on Rap, I will not dignify it by calling it music. The soapbox is starting to creak or it could be me, so I had better get off.

I have the answer for you about the phrase "Moving forward". It is so political that even this tiny mention of the topic will likely get me zapped.

Its not just "moving forward" that grates on my nerves but also "at the end of the day", "outside the box", "I'm sorry", "press 1 for English", "your call is important to us", "sorry for any inconvenience" and on and on and.....
