this engine is supposed to be a 1951 235 and here are the numbers JAD903698 can anyone help? thanks

I think that JAD was the 1951 235 car engine built in Flint, MI (RPO-317 235 engine with hydraulic lifters)

- If you have to stomp on your foot-pedal starter, either you, or your starter, or your engine, has a problem.
- The 216 and early 235 engine are not "splash oilers" - this is a splash oiler.

I do not know about any non-pressurized Chevrolet 6 cylinder engines.

It is a low-pressure 235 engine with hydraulic lifters. It was only installed in Powerglide-equipped cars from 1950-1952/1953.
