Hi folks, I'm still working on the grand plan for my 53 3100. I have an alum. radiator with shroud and electric fan. It has a transmission cooler. I'm running a 2008 tremec 5 speed that I think can take a trans cooler. Also need an oil cooler for blown 292. Also need condenser for A/C. Where do I put all of this without blocking the flow to the radiator? It has a 3300 cfm fan. Can I use the automatic trans cooler in the radiator for something? Not a lot of space up there. My radiator with fan and shroud is almost 8" thick. Looks like I can go foword about 5". Add supercharger pulley and the extra 3" for the 292 and I'm in the cab a little bit. Thanks for any advice.

Run the trans cooler down the frame rail, run the oil in the radiator trans cooler, and run the A/C condenser in front if you want the A/C to work.

If you end up having to move the engine back a little, a sneaky trick is to use the stamped steel tub of a wheelbarrow as a pre-shaped piece to fabricate the doghouse area under the dash. Trim it to fit, obviously, but it eliminates a lot of metal fabrication to get those compound curves looking right.

Thanks for the advice on the coolers. I have heard before about the wheelbarrow thing. Sounds like a good idea to me. New tub is about $50 bucks. Gotta be worth that.

I'd check local yard sales for a good used wheelbarrow- - - - -probably save a few bucks, and you're going to be cutting and trimming on it anyway!

Blown 292? Might want to get 2 wheelbarrows. One to cut up, and another to use for collecting scattered engine/transmission/rear end parts. smile
Just messing with you, man. I am a recovering gear head. Actually I would get a kick out of riding in that baby.
