I'm looking for the original equipment spare tire mounting hardware. Under the bed. I've got a '62 short stepside and don't want to mount it on the inside of the bed or even carry it in the bed. I've checked LMC and Jim Carter. . . no luck. You guys got any ideas?

Thanks!

Doug,

Hit Leon's just south of culpepper and grab one from the yard. If not Leon's then your other local junk yard. Will be much easier on the wallet to buy from a local yard then the one currently on ebay.
They were the same for many years. I think 55.2-66 will be about the same.
You likely will have to cut off the bolt so bring a hack saw. Replace the bolt later. If you need original nut/bolt once you find the bracket then call on me. I collected 1 or 2.

a lot of the vendors sell nos/used parts, but they don't always keep an accurate list on their websites, so you might have to use the pesky telephone and like, call and ask.

60-62 frame rails are wider at the back than 63-66 and the tire mount runs from frame rail to frame rail

That is good reminder. Ihad forgotten. I believe the bar (bracket) has multiple hole options to accomidate multiple years. Maybe you can confirm that for me.
