235 Engine for sale, low milage (maybe 5000), engine rebuilt in 80's but truck has set for 30 years. In process of truck restoration now, but switched to a GMC 270 engine. Have video of truck engine running two years ago prior to removal. Here is a link to some pictures. $1,150 for everything / $750 for engine only

See post below for more pictures

What year 235, and what year/type vehicle did it come out of (can you post an engine serial number)?

Your links do not work for me.

Thanks,

Tim

If you have to stomp on your foot-starter, either you, or your starter, or your engine, has a problem.

I'm out of town right now, but my research says it is a 55 to 57. Try this and if that doesn't work, message or email me Head number

" . . what year/type vehicle did it come out of (can you post an engine serial number)?"

"55-57": car and truck 235s might have slight differences those years. The ESN will help to determine what differences, if any.

Head: 1956-1962 car or truck

Block: could it be F430FE?

That would be a car 1957 or later car 235 with heavy duty clutch.
It would have hydraulic lifters.

Thanks.

Find and post the block date casting code. Then, I'll show you the car and truck engine ID codes for that year.

8887004 = 3837004 (?) = 1955-1957 235 block (car &/or truck depending on year)

CON4 = Conveyor #4

D257
D = 4 = April
25 = 25
7 = 1957 (In 1957, this was a car 235 block - hydraulic lifters)

Head: B35 head date casting code
B = 2 = February
3 = 3 rd
5 = 1955

You links posted earlier no longer work for me.

Do you know if it has hydraulic lifters?
