can anyone tell me how long the rubber bumpers are on the rear door checks of a 53 chevy panel. just got a pair but the bumpers are missing. i'll have to make a couple but not sure how long they are suppose be.

I can measure mine tomorrow. I also had to make one, I think they pinch into place.

ok thanks 53 panel yup looked like they where pinched at the factory but with all the new glues around I might just try to glue them into place with a little groove cut out where the metal pinched it not sure yet getting them bead blasted at the moment.

Yes, I glued mine too. My rubber is an inch long and is triangular. Each side of the triangle also an inch across. The rubber isn't too hard because you need to pry it into place.

I was kind of wondering about the shape also. thanks for the help i'll have my buddy that's blasting them make me a couple since he said that he has all kinds of rubber around.

just so you all know i did find door bumpers at steele rubber products p/n 60-0334-71 for $25. only place that I have found them so far.

Can someone post a pic of what you're talking about? It's been so long since I disassembled my Jimmy that I have forgotten a lot of the little things. Are you talking about the sissor like arms on the top of the barn doors?

Can't post a pic, but in the pivot of that arm, there is a rubber bumper that will touch the top of the door jamb when the door closes. This rubber protects it from damage.
