I as well! I think the semi gloss black on a big old one ton will look nice especially with the dual tires. But man am I beginning to hate block sanding. It was fun at first but not now. I have the time to do it and it is very satisfying knowing that I've done everything on the truck so far. It's easy to see how vehicles on tv can quickly become 6 figures. Labour isn't cheap and oh boy do I have a ton of labour into this ole girl...
Plus, 2 trucks more to finish after this one, then I'm retiring from the hobby. Maybe 😎

Rear fenders ready to prime. I still have to blast the fender extensions. Needless to say but I've got sand in my underpants!

Primed! A little tiny bit of filler for some of the bumps that exceeded my ability and they should be good to go for paint.

Today I mounted the front fenders and grill surround and began to block and work out the ripples and imperfections I missed in metal work. It looks pretty good and I really enjoy working out in the sunshine. It allows you to see so much.

I had 3 complete strangers (working in the new development) stop in and visit about the truck this afternoon!

It went really well today. Sunshine, 10'C, a brew with a friend, and sand sand sand!

Today I remounted the 5 window cab and sheet metal (originally from the Chevrolet 1 ton) onto the 1/2 ton frame (originally the GMC 3 window).
I have "completed" the body swap as I always wanted the 5 window Chevrolet 1/2 ton. The GMC 1 ton is a bonus and learning experience before I try to restore the 1/2 ton and my grandpa's 70 C10.

Here are the trucks as of tonight.
