Dave, I found that Bondo Ultimate works very well. It can be applied over an epoxy sealer and featheredges nice. Doesn't seem to shrink like cheaper lines of bondo.

I dont know if this is the best, but I've had very good results.

Go to the local auto paint supplier and get evercoat rage or evercoat lightwieght. Won't shrink and sands really easy.

Go to a real auto body paint store to get all your products. Evercoat RAGE, RAGE GOLD, are super products at a decent price. However, they may be more than others, they work SO GOOD they are well worth the money.

"Bondo" brand is usually sold in "retail" stores like Pep-Chumps and Wally World and though they will do the job just fine, I have never seen a shop use it. Why? Because there are better products and mostly because they are usually ridiculously expensive compared to the similar Evercoat, USC,etc (read that "pro") type product.

And stay with the same brand throughout your painting process!!! One brand of filler may not be compatible with another's brand of primer/sealer, which in turn may not work with someone else's paint. You'll save money here in the long run, believe it!

Hey Guys,
Shrinkage occurs with all products, from sealers, bondo, primers and paint and clears, nothing is NONE shrinkage, some better brands don't shrink as much, but if you want to have a nice job, give your products time to cure before moving on to the next step! By this I mean.. do your bondo/allmetal work and give it time to cure after you feather edge it, don't prime it right away, you may want to feather edge a little more when it is cured.. same when you prime, give it a few days to cure.. use the reducer that fits your temp., to slow of a reducer when painting or clearing will need more dry time! Give your Steps time to dry and you'll see a better result in the long run!
