Has anyone done this swap, must separate rear at belt line, take apart at windshield "A" post and relead joint, biggest problem fitting '54 windshield to earlier cab, do you think it is worth it? Of course it would be cool if donor was '54.

Ed, I've done the swap but an early 5 window roof to an early 3 window cab. It was fairly straight forward/not too difficult. But what you are proposing, as you're probably aware, means that the curvature of the 1 piece 54 windshield, at the top, would need to accommodate the forward edge of an earlier roof which was designed to use 2 pieces of flat glass. IMHO, I really think you're asking for trouble....there's little chance that you'll be able to seal the top of the 54 windshield to the earlier cab, and also it would look like c.... Not worth it. I'd keep looking for that 54 donor, or stick with the 3 window cab.
Good luck...Dave

How does the cab attach at the belt line, I don't feel any bolts or weld in there at the corners where I can feel with my hands?

Thanks,

Ed

Ed,
There are spot welds across the whole belt line. Not sure the purpose of the 4 bolts across the back, once those come out you will still have to deal with the spot welds. When I removed my lower back panel, there was probably 60 spot welds across the belt line. I don't have my assembly manual handy, but I think there is a page showing the spot welds.

There's a difference at the lower edge of the windshield, & cowl vent also.
