Is it possible to reverse or reset the milage on the original odometer? Starting to rehab mine on my 53 1/2 ton

Yes, it can be taken apart and reset to zero.

Tip #2- If you plan to renumber them make a scribe mark in the side of the wheel between the 1 and the 0 before you clean the wheel surface. The existing numbers will disappear when you clean them. You must get the new numbers in the correct place for it to work right.

If you don't want to mess around with decals for the odometer, Jim Carter sells a reproduction odometer. I bought one from him on eBay. Here is the link to the part in his catalogue.
