I am looking at putting an LS1 engine and tranny in my 1950 Chevy truck and would like to know if anyone has done this and get some help/advice on what is required, ie: front end, engine compartment modifications, etc, etc. Am new and trying to learn. Thanks,

It's been done thousands of times and there is lots of info there. You will enjoy your finished truck.

Use the search function at the top of the page on this site. Search LS1 swap or a version of that. Should be lots of posts.

Suggest you also pick up a few of the truck magazines - Custom Classic trucks comes to mind. There are a lot of vendors in there that specialize in parts to make the engine, trans, and rear-end swaps into older trucks. No sense reinventing the wheel.

As already mentioned, this has been done thousands of time, mostly with a chassis swap as well. Are you doing this,or using the stock frame and axle?

Good question BC52 Frame? a few other things to think bout, while you decide what it is you in vision for your truck.
headers, brake master location, cross members, rear end, steering box & column, fuel tank.
some welding is required, with fabrication skills, just figuring out the engine location to the radiator, is a challenge.

Have fun, good luck with your project.
