At the Winter Classic we had some good laughs about moving drill presses and other machine shop "stuff" about 6 years ago now. Thanks again for the expert services provided by the ODSS machinery moving crew that long weekend.
With no takers on my offer to move just one machine this Monday.. Adam, neighbor Shelby, Richmond friend Chuck, and I got the job done.

Here's what y'all missed out on wink

Where are the unload pictures? Or, do you have to build a building? grin

(If I was any bit closer, I'd have helped)

Good looking L&S.
Glad someone is saving old iron and just not trucks.
I may have to plan on a visit to your shop again, when we have more time to chat.

Thanks Victor, I was really just poking fun and we managed just fine with the help I did have.

The whole trailer is in the garage right now. I need to first sell my old lathe http://roanoke.craigslist.org/tls/5461377155.html
And another
http://roanoke.craigslist.org/tls/5461460557.html
To make room in the shop.

So there will be plenty of opportunity left for moving heavy stuff with getting the old one out and the new one in. Sometime in the next 2 or 3 weeks is the plan.

The machine was actually bought and installed new at a technical school in 1968, never been moved until yesterday. It may have never been repainted. It's in nice shape, seems wasn't used much at all but suffered some due to neglect. I'm looking forward to getting it cleaned up and useable.

I will come out to help when you install that lift down to the river. Looks good Grigg. Maybe you can teach my fascinated kid how to work that thing.

You never cease to amaze me. Very impressive move. How long did it take you to figure out removing the tires and wheels on the trailer would give you the angle you needed (not long I'm guessing).
Wish I was closer, I would have loved to help or more appropriately, learned!
Very nice.
