Robert,

Nice work. Don't worry about John V, though -- I'm sure all he has to do is post the first hood on the Biederman Club web site's swap meet and one of the other Biederman restorers out there will snap it up in no time.

In order to save the hinge as well as trim parts at the bottom edge there was some destructive dismantling of the hood to keep damage to the reused parts to a minimum. He may find a buyer but it will definitely be in "kit" form. grin

Beautiful work Robert. Just fantastic! Can't wait to see it in person but if it is at a show, and anything like Macungie, there will be a swarm of bug eyed folks trying to get a look!

I bet you could make a truck body out of a stack of sheet metal. Great work Robert, and thanks for taking the time to illustrate the process.

I was fortunate enough to visit Robert on a side trip during Homecoming last week. I had a hard time taking my eyes off of the Biederman.....they just kept moving from one beautiful area to the next. And then to realize that Robert formed that metal to make it look and fit the way it does....mind boggling! I love watching the artist at work!

Thanks for the kind words fellas, the 16 gauge was definitely a challenge, good to see my portion complete.

If anyone local to Lexington KY would like to see it in person, this truck will be at the ATHS 2018 Convention in Lexington Ky, May 31 to June 2nd. I'm told it will be inside the building..
