finally brokedown and purchased a flat screen tv last year

Samgung 75 LED

Well just after warranty ended it quit working.

Quick google search on the problem with my set shows Samsung used inferior capacitors, .

Just a warning if your in the market.

Bought a Toshiba a few years back, maybe even 5 or 6, anyway,
the tv has the clearest picture I've ever seen on a modern tv.
Even when I walk right up to within a foot or do from it, it's
clear and sharp and almost looks like you can reach into it.
I can see the whiskers on Bones chin as clear as if she were
standing next to me.

Our old Mitsubishi projection HD TV went out last year. I bought a Sanyo that lasted two months. Warrantied it & bought a TV from Wally World that lasted a month. Bought a Vizio & so far so good but holding my breath. It seems lately that quality is pretty hit & miss across product lines.

5 year old Samsung 60 inch flatscreen HD. Works perfect. Hope it continues....
Toshiba sold our top secret sub propeller plans to anyone who wanted them so I have heard. AFTER they made the props for us that USA couldn't do.
No Toshiba anything in this household.
Most new TV's have excellent pics these days.
Prices are low, Costco almost gives them away!
Good luck---

When we were in the market Samsung had good reviews

None of these know problems came up when we searched,

I guess it depends on how you search

If you search samsung power problems
Or samsung capacitor problems
Or samsung class action law suit
The results will come up

This whole deal makes me sick, we paid big bucks for this set, our old square tube set was still working after 15 years.

My wife called customer support yesterday, we were told we were s.o.l. But she insisted and finally spoke with a "specialist" . She got them to agree to pay for parts but were still stuck with labor fees.

We don't know what that is yet.

No more Samsung for me.

Have a Vizio that went totally black one day. Got online and found the Vizio support page and started a chat with one of them. They had a TV to me within a couple of weeks at zero charge to me. Hard to complain when you get that type of service.
