 47 - 48 panel seats

Hi all, I bought some panel seats, advertised as 1948, for my 1947 3800 panel. The passenger side tilt mounts that came with the seats are totally different than the mounts that were still in the truck and the spacing is considerably different. I haven't checked the driver's seat yet to see if the rail spacing is different. I'm sure I can make the seats work but my question is, were the original 47 seats a one year only type of deal? Many thanks, Les

Les, 47-53 look to be the same. Master Parts & Accessories Catalog: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/parts/1929_54/769.htmMaybe someone else has experience; or, maybe someone else will be able to better interpret the MP&AC

Thanks Tim, it sure appears that they were all the same according to the parts manual. The seats I have are quite a bit different from what is/was in my 47. If anybody has a 47 or 48 panel with original seats and can confirm that there is only 1 bolt hole per mounting bracket leg on the drivers side seat for the 47 and 2 bolt holes per mounting bracket leg on the drivers side seat for the 48 it would be much appreciated.
If someone can tell me what the original 54 drives seat has that would be much appreciated. I'm starting to think the seats I bought might be for a 54 55 1st or maybe not Chevy at all.
Also, the seats I bought have two arms that come down from the seat back to attach to the seat bottom instead of the more "bucket" looking attachment the existing 47 drivers seat has. Thanks in advance for the help, Les

Les,
It is possible that the difference in 54/55 seats might be the color of the upholstery? When they list seat assembly, they might also be referring to upholstery?

Hey Tim, Beats me! you are much better at the decoder ring than I am All I know at this point is that I don't have a clue what I have. I certainly appreciate you trying to help me figure it out though! Les

Well, after much head scratching and looking at a lot of pictures I have learned that the seats I bought were incorrectly advertised and not for an AD at all! What I have are panel truck bucket seats for a 60-66 panel so these will soon be for sale and my search will continue. Thanks to all the took the time to look and respond but I can now see why nobody had a concrete answer. Thanks again, Les
