One of my younger brothers served in the Army reserve and many of my friends have served in the Army over the years. A couple of my best friends (Don, RIP) and Jerry (Purple heart) served back in the late 60's/70's.

Happy birthday Dogfaces

Today we passed a convoy of those huge HEMTT 8 wheelers. The drivers did not look happy. How come the Army didn't splurge on AC? Those poor guys looked hot, and the windows were tiny.

As slow as ARMY vehicles travel on public roads you would think they would be somewhat safe. But not when a speeding dumb **** civilian tries to squeeze between a tractor trailer and a HumVee as had happened recently in NJ. The HumVee ended up in the woods and the driver was killed. Another soldier is paralyzed. War is not the only casualty maker.

Drew, I just read that in England, during the 10 months before DDay more than 6000 US troops died in training.

It's a tough occupation.
