Good for you, Ron. Sounds at least like the property portion of your claim is being well handled. Mine is still in limbo. As of this morning(8 days later)it's still sitting in the towing companys' lot and no one has even looked at it yet. Holidays they all say. (Must be nice to have all this time off.) My ins. company said they would pick it up today and take it to their lot and have their adjuster come up with a number. Since it's a claim against the city, they have an independent investigator reviewing everything and he told me it will probably be next week before he's finished with his investigation and the city can assume liability. Right now my insurance is paying for everything, rental, etc. I have a hunch they will pay me for the truck and then go after the city. This being in limbo is driving me nuts. I have located a replacement vehicle and would really like to finish the deal by the end of the week to take advantage of year end deals. Before I hit the savings account, I'd really like to know what I've got coming property wise. I have a feeling I won't be happy. With sales tax here at 8%, if a dealer would have given $5000 in trade, I'm out at least $400 in sales tax alone on a new purchase.
Good Luck, Bob

The insurance company should add the sales tax to your claim. My sister in law got ran into and I helped with the insurance adjuster. Once we settled on the number sales tax was added to it.

My settlement offer included sales tax too. However I bought the truck back from them and that amount was dropped.

Sounds nice, Ron. My step daughter has a 2013 Terrain and loves it. It is a nice ride. I'm still waiting on my deal. It will be two weeks Monday and no one has even looked at my truck yet. I've about had it with the insurance co. My "adjuster" finally had it towed from the towing companies lot where they took it after the wreck late Tues. afternoon, 8 days after the accident after a somewhat irate phone call from me Monday. On Wed. I called again to see what was going on and she told me" you just called me on Monday what would you like me to do ? " After filing the initial claim with insurance two hours after the accident I didn't know it was then my job to track you down and hound you to do yours. And other than an interview with the city investigator on Monday I still haven't heard a thing from them whose fault it was in the first place. I've spoken to my attorney about this already and am just about ready to hand it over to him and tell him get what you can from whoever you can. I've had it. My stress level is through the roof and "pain and suffering" is rising daily. Oh and I have Harleysville Ins. by the way (have had the policy for 20 years without a claim)but that will hopefully be changing soon.
Sorry for the vent, Bob

The new one. i wasted many hrs. in the last 2 days trying to post this. I know the amount i am getting but have not received it yet, hopefully Fri. or Sat. I think they treated me fairly, i have been with them for 40 years and 3 cars, house, and half of my retirement with them in a IRA.
