Glad you're OK Ron,like the guys have already mentioned the car can be replaced.
Although...I can't help seeing some irony in the fact the guys are Jeep bashing about how bad they are in slippy conditions, considering Jeeps history...

jockbolter50, I can tell you that the Jeep liberty is a disgrace to the Jeep name on slippery roads. I wouldn't say that about the other Jeep products although I am not a Chrysler fan.

I have decided to replace it with the same thing but a lease. I was going to upgrade to an slt to get leather seating but decided to go cheap and the lease will be $204.00 for 39 months. At my age it seems to make more sense, no money down. I won't know the settlement until Wednesday. I have to decide before the 1st of Jan. to get some special discounts.

Ron, Although I still visit Stovebolt daily,I don't post here much anymore, but am glad to hear glad you're OK. I'm currently in the same boat as you. Was driving home from work at 6:30 AM last Monday when a City of Joliet FD ambulance blew a red light and totaled my Silverado. A little banged up and a sore shoulder but in much better shape than the truck. With the taller buildings in downtown Joliet it is basically a blind intersection and I had caught a couple of green lights so I was doing between 25 and 30 when I entered it and caught that big International ambulance out of the corner of my eye a few feet away doing about the same speed. Just enough time to think "Oh S#&%" and then next thing I remember was walking across the street to the other vehicle. Kind of eerie how the body shuts down in moments like that. At least I'll be alright and the paramedic did admit fault. I've been in a couple of accidents before in 40 years of driving, but this one has me pretty rattled. Maybe it's my age, but it's been kind of hard shaking that image when I'm driving now. With the holidays all the adjusters and such have been off so I'm expecting the big insurance dance to start today. Like you I really didn't need this now. My daughter is in town from Colorado for the week and now I have to spend a lot of it at doctors and looking for a new vehicle. My retirement date is 5 years and I was planning on driving the Silverado for two more then buying new so I'd have a fairly new vehicle at retirement. Oh well, life happens. Hope everything goes OK with your ordeal.

I know the feeling too. I was centerpunched by a red light runner a couple years ago in my F-250. For quite a while that eerie feeling came to me at every intersection.

My settlement is generous so to speak and not having to fight for it. i got the market value plus licensing, fees and and money for pain and suffering not a lot there but they did offer. i have twinges once in a while. which worries me but i am 71 1/2 and i have job where i do a lot of lifting and carrying all day. also i get my deductible. her fault. i went on carmax and true car and printed off the prices that reflected my car. the adjuster commented on how clean and low mileage it had. hope you are ok. BTW i replaced it with what i had except is red. i like it the way it was and i did not need all the extras.
