I just bought a 1948 GMC pickup. I call him grandpa because I also have a 2003 SSR and the SSR was inspired by the old GM trucks. It is suppose to be delivered on Friday. My name is Jim and I live in Phoenix Arizona and I'm new here.

Welcome, Ssrjim. Here's what "grandpa" can look like when he's done. My '48

Awesome 48 Paul... simply stunning.

So tell us Jim, what's your plan for your newly acquired 'bolt? Stock, resto-rod, hot rod, pro-touring or ?

Inspired to be different. Different in a way of my own, not in a way that others strive.

Welcome to Stovebolt SsrJim! This is a great group to be a part of; the folks here have been a big help to me in bringing my 1948 Chevy 1/2 ton p.u. back to life. Just let us know how we can be of help. ENJOY!

Welcome Jim. A lot of cool stuff in that photostream of yours.

Welcome to Stovbolt,Jim. Sounds like you and grandpa are in for a lot of fun. There are other bolters in Phonix. One has a 37 pickup that I know.
Good luck on your project.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

I'm planning on street-roding it. New chassis, new power plant, new transmission, wheels, fresh paint.

Well thanks. I had to look to see what is there. That is not my main site for my photos. The yellow Willys wagon was my first attempt at restoring a car.. Came out OK for a first try. I will apply what I learned on grandpa.

I hang out with a bolter, he has a 50 chevy. He directed me to this site.
