55 Chevy 2nd series, 235, new wiring harness, starter (stomp), coil, etc. Has a mallory distributor instead of stock. Engine turns over but no voltage to the pick up coil. Do I need to wire different from stock configuration since its not a stock distributor? Would like to fire it up for the first time. Appreciate any advice.

shouldn't be any different, although I don't know if you need the ignition resistor, I'd start tracking wires and make sure you have everything in the right place and the ignition switch is doing what it should

What style Mallory distributor are you using?

Turns out the wiring harness is incorrect. After reviewing the service manual, the 3 prong connection to the ignition switch had the wrong colored wires going to the wrong posts. So made some jumper cables to make the correct connections and then got power to the ballast resistor and the the coil. Then she fired right up. Appreciate it gents.

Just out of curiosity, what wire harness manufacturer was it? I had one from Y-n-Z, the ignition switch connector on it had the exact same problem.
