Interesting I wondered if that couldn't be done the other day. Less wheel rub issue maybe. I wonder what brakes were used.

Chevy 3/4 ton K series (4x4) front brakes

'71-'86 3/4 ton K series rotors
'71-'78 3/4 ton K series calipers & brake lines

Later calipers went to metric size hose connection.

Where did you get the bolt spacers and rotor spacers? Why did you not just go with larger bolts through the rotor and drill the hub? Is the center ring even necessary?

A local machine shop made the parts for me.

Larger bolts with larger nuts would interfere with the outer diameter of hub casting just inboard of the brake flange.

The ring keeps the rotor concentric with the hub.

I checked the clearance between the rotor bolts in the original application and the the rotor bolt hole diameter and found it pretty loose. It looked like the factory used the center bore to keep it centered so I just did the same.

The plate is 1/2 cold rolled steel. The mounting tab on the bottom is offset 1/2" using a piece of 1/2" square stock welded between the tab and the main plate.

When I had the plate cut, I made the tab 1/2" longer so that it would overlap the main plate. I bolted the main plate to a spindle and the tab where it went and then placed the piece of square stock in between and tack welded it. There are 4 separate beads of weld holding the tab on so I don't think it will go anywhere.

The bolts holding the rotor on are the same thread size as the studs that held the drum on but longer to fit the rotor.

John, Have you considered selling the unique parts that you have designed. I would be interested in purchasing a "adapter" parts kit. My 55 1 Ton would be a perfect candidate for upgrading.

Thanks in advance. Howie near Calgary
