AD Hood Locking System

         Simple AD Hood Locking System xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx intro xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx .

         Hopefully you don’t need to even think about this sort of thing but ... It always seems to be in the backs of most everyone’s mind anymore. Here is a simple way to lock the hood of your AD truck.

         I unbolted the complete hood latch mechanism and took it apart. I used a 1’’ x 1-1/2’’ (approximate) tab and welded it to the stock hood pull lever about midway. I drilled a 3/8’’ hole for a padlock. This will have to match to second piece.

         This second piece is 3/4’’ strap of three short pieces welded together in the fashion shown in the photo (you'll have to fit it to your truck, anyway).

         I bead blasted it and then spray painted it and re-installed. This is then bolted to the engine cowl area when the latch mechanism is bolted back on.

         Now if you wish to lock the hood, you can!
