From Tom :

Here is my 1951 3100 Chevy 5 window Deluxe Cab. It is the original body -- a "California truck" with no rust. The serial number also shows it was built in California.

After looking for a couple of years I gauged the cost of a "build vs. finding one already built." I was willing to do the frame / drivetrain work but not the body work and that would have been the most costly part. I finally found one out in California -- 2,000 miles away. It was restored about five years ago and built as a driver, which is what I wanted.

The truck It is original in appearance but has a modern drivetrain which is what I was looking for. It has 350 / 700r, IFS, 10 bolt, air-ride.

The truck did need some TLC. So I spent the last few months detailing, repairing bed, replacing seals and alot of the chrome (salt air), wiring, lights, etc. These thinks sure add up!!

Also, during the summer I added new 18" and 20" wheels and tires.

I found the best deals and customer service at Mar-K and Brothers truck parts.

Sorry I know alot of you like them all original and I do too, but we drive 500-800 miles round trip to out of state shows and it is better for me personally. I'll ad a few things to personalize it.

The picture is the first I have so far. It was taken at a recent show (thanks to the guy who took it).

This site has been great, thanks for all the help...

TJ

Thanks for the comment. We know the gang is a great help to many. And what you do with your truck is what makes it "your's" ... so do it and enjoy. She sure looks good. And we bet she'll ride good. ~ Editor
