Cool Old Truck

Garth Sweet's

1948 Chevrolet 2-Ton Flatbed

4 February 03

From Garth

My truck is s 1948 Chevy 2 ton. I found it in the hills of West Virginia through my father-in-law who knows the guy I bought it from. We changed the oil and distributor cap rotor, and plugs and it fired right up. It has a 250 from a 1978 passenger car. The bed was rotten so I removed it and will be replacing it as time comes available. This truck will be used for our landscape business as an advertisement and also will be used to work some jobs. The brakes have been replaced from front to back and the master cylinder and wheel cylinders are all new or remanufactured. The truck was brought back to NC through a fog storm on the mountains of Virginia that had us crawling down a long interstate hill.
