From Tony:

I am still working on getting OLRED66 back on the road after the overheating incident of the factory 283 and the theft of the front clip from my shop, while I had it apart to swap the 283 for a period correct rebuilt 327.  Here are a few photos of the progress.

I degreased, cleaned and applied POR15 on the front portion of the frame and suspension.  I corrected the power steering geometry, installed new 17" Eagle Alloy rims and BF Goodrich tires. I dropped in the 327 and put in a factory correct automatic transmission cross member to secure the Turbo 400.

The inner fenders, radiator support, hood hinges, battery box and grille support are at Eagle Auto Stripping in Kansas City, Kansas getting blasted and coated with epoxy primer.  The front fenders, cowl extensions, grille support and hood will all be painted to match the sheet metal that was stolen from my shop back in December.

I can't wait to get OLRED66 back together and on the road.  I will forward some more photos when she is complete.

Thanks for the tireless work the Stovebolt Staff do on the site.

Best regards,

From Anthony:

Yet another addition to the family. The attached photos are of my '66, C-20, Custom Camper. I bought this truck to pull my car hauler trailer to shows to tote 19SEXY5 ('65, C-10, Custom).

It has a factory 283 with a turbo 400 automatic with a Lokar vintage truck floor shifter. It has power steering, power brakes, 2-1/2" Flowmaster, Series 40 exhaust and a Class III receiver hitch. I have fixed or replaced many parts and pieces to get it period correct since I bought it. I am currently using it as my daily driver. This one is called OLRED66 and the license plate will be the same.

OLRED66 drives as good as my 2000 Z-71 Tahoe and I can work on it when it doesn't.

Have a great Thanksgiving holiday and thanks for all the hard work keeping Stovebolt.com alive and kicking.
