Charles Shearon's

1940

Chevrolet Pickup

From Charles

This is my 1940 1/2 ton.  A contractor friend bought it in 1954 from a barn near Cutler CA. It was on eucycaliptus stumps next to the 47 Chevy pu that replaced it in 1947 and the Mod A open cab that preceded it.

The odometer read 10,262 miles. In the nine years since restoration it has been driven 1600. + mi.  While the original tailgate was dented the box had NO other dents, side or top.

My friend enrolled in local trade/adult school and worked on and off for 3 years restoring and modifying the truck. 350 sb with trans, Camaro frame clip, tilt wheel p/s, p/b, vintage air.  I have added a new Walker Cobra radiator, blue dot tail light lenses and NOS CA 1940 lic plates in the month I have owned it.

Thanks.
