John informed us in February 2011 that he no longer has this truck. Hopefully, the new ower will come forward and continue this classic truck's history. Some of you may enjoy John's last moment with his '45 in this You-tube goodbye. John still has his 1942 Chevy to keep him busy. ~ Editor

From John:
Hello Stovebolters!
This is my 1945 Chevy half-ton [ pix ] .
I bought this Art Deco truck in June of 2001 in really sad condition.
This is a frame off restoration,
mostly original. The truck has a 216 engine, original drivetrain and 12-volt electrical
system with an alternator. Also has nicely finished solid oak bedboards.
I did all the bodywork
and paint myself. This is my first attempt at a restoration. [ Interior picture ] It's been
a fun and rewarding project.
It was finally registered in May of 2004
and put back on the road for the first time in over 20 years.
I still have some minor
issues to work out but at least now I can drive it ..... and I get lots
of "thumbs ups"!
I also have lots of before,
during and after pictures here.
Thanks for lookin',
John Sandoval
