From Lisa :

I have recently acquired a fairly good condition 1960 Chevy Fleetside Apache 10.  The way I came about it was a little odd!

I had a nice 1983 Harley Sportster Ironhead and was looking to trade it for an old Mustang.  Well, needless to say, old Mustangs are either rust buckets or totally restored and going for high dollar.  So, while looking through the classifieds (Craigslist), I found this truck. Now, I live in Baltimore and the truck was in northern Philly!! [ side view ]

I saw the pictures and what attracted me to it was actually the look of the hood!! I loved it!  So, I spoke with the previous owner and drove up to Philadelphia to take a look.  We agreed on the deal and later he trailered the truck down half way and we made the trade.

The truck had a previous restoration from about 10 years ago so it is in fairly good condition.  It has a solid bed and solid floor boards, etc.  It does have some minor rust in a few spots, but nothing that can’t be ground out and fixed up.  The previous owner put in a Chevy 305 ci 8-cylinder [ motor ] and switched out the 3 speed on the column with a 4 speed Hurst shifter. [ rear view ]

The interior was “pimped out” velour style!  I didn’t care for it at first, but it’s kinda retro and I like it now!  The dash is complete and restored, and the glass is all good.  The wood in the bed isn’t original.  I also got alot of extra parts to go with the truck, including an original hood in good shape, a new rear chrome bumper, new stainless steel bed strips and screw set, new exterior door handles and a tonneau cover!!

I was only asking $3800 for my bike, so I think I got a good deal on the trade.  I have attached a few pictures and would appreciate any comments or feedback.

Thanks,

Lisa
